Wallingford had four crews entered at HWR, including three junior boats and our “Aspirational 2x” of Liberty Barlow and Lucy Walker.
Our WJ16 4+ “A” crew qualified from the time trial for side by side racing on Saturday but alas drew the eventual winners Henley in the first round. Henley had to beat the course record by 4 seconds to beat our girls, and we posted the third quickest time of the day, so a great performance though a disappointing result.
The good news is that three of the 4+ will be back to try again next year.
