Masters Rowing

The focus of the Wallingford Masters squad is on providing a friendly, open environment in which rowers of all experience levels can achieve their goals and enjoy their sport. Whether you’re an experienced athlete returning to rowing after a break or simply came to the sport later in life, our aim is to provide a range of opportunities to train, compete and socialise which suit all our squad members.

As well as attending local head races and regattas, the Wallingford Masters squad competes in the Tideway Heads, major national events, and several international events. At World Masters events, Wallingford crews have won numerous gold medals and have been successful at the Head of the Charles. There is also a keen ergometer rowing group who compete at the British Indoor Rowing Championships and other competitions.

There are several Masters who prefer to single scull only, and they are kept socially involved in the group.

Please note that regrettably we are unlikely to be able to take on beginners at a masters level, however, if you have some prior experience of rowing or sculling we will do our best to integrate you into the main masters group. If you would like more information or are interested in joining the Wallingford masters, please contact the Captain.
