As usual Nottingham was overcast and windy last weekend for the British Rowing Junior Championships where Wallingford entered 8 crews. Due to the high number of entries, all crews had to race time trials on Saturday and 6 Wallingford crews reached the top 12 of their categories and therefore qualified for the A and B finals on Sunday.

In an increasingly competitive field of Junior J15 coxed quads, there was a fantastic result for Wallingford's 'A' crew of Arthur Arnould, Tim Waller, David Willcox, Henry Edwards and cox Alice Middleton who won the bronze medal less than a second behind the silver medallists. The 'B' crew of George Skilling, Will Mangion, Wrenton Toth, Joe Morris and cox Jessica Polkey also put in an impressive performance coming 2nd in the 'B' final. The Women's Junior double scull of Alice Walker & Freya Dale just missed out on the bronze by coming 4th in the 'A' final and Lucy Walker convincingly won the 'B' final in a field of 27 WJ15 single sculls.

Other crews who reached the 'B' finals were Jessica Polkey & Morgan Sims in the WJ14 2x and Dan Wilkinson in the J16 1x. Crews who reached the 'C' finals on Saturday were Katie Metalli & Maddie Newman in the WJ double scull and Gabi Moss, Georgia Swiatoniowska, Ani Cook, Maisie Beavan and cox Billy Lines in the WJ14 coxed quad.
