This year’s Wallingford Regatta was a huge success. With near perfect conditions the weather was fantastic and so was the racing. Kicking off the Dorney Regattas for the summer, Wallingford provided a packed programme of racing and the regatta ran smoothly throughout. 500 crews took to the 2k course battling their way through heats and finals.

There were no wins for the hosts on the day but some good results nevertheless. Wallingford’s senior men raced well to win their heat before going on to come third in the finals for intermediate 2 coxed fours. Andy Hull raced intermediate 3 single sculls and came third in both his heat and the final. Wallingford’s women also raced well coming second in the women’s intermediate 1 quadruple sculls and it was a Wallingford final for the women’s elite double sculls with the club taking both second and third place. Wallingford’s juniors also put in a good performance at the regatta. The junior under 18 double sculls finished third in their final and the women’s junior under 18 double sculls came second in theirs.
